Mechanical Co-op

About the role

This mechanical co-op position focuses on the design of mechanical building systems for commercial and federal clients. Applicants will work on a variety of project types from offices, schools, churches, barracks, labs, warehouses, prisons, and more, for clients located across the country and internationally. Follow the design process from beginning to end (design, bid, permit, construction) through the construction drawing process and get hands-on experience by participating in site visits to see mechanical system designs in action.

Responsibilities

• Work on a variety of project types from offices, schools, churches, barracks, labs, warehouses, prisons, and more, for clients located across the country and internationally.
• Follow the design process from beginning to end (design, bid, permit, construction) through the construction drawing process.
• Get hands-on experience by participating in site visits to see mechanical system designs in action.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with architects, landscape, interiors, other engineering disciplines, and clients.
• Gain familiarity with Revit, with AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, and Bluebeam knowledge as a bonus.
• Receive on-the-job training of all software provided by KZF Design.

Requirements

Desired skills include effective communication skills and team collaboration. Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, and Bluebeam is preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Strong academic performance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of mechanical building systems.

Skills

• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, and Bluebeam.
• Effective communication skills.
• Team collaboration skills.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
