Position Overview
We are looking for a Mechanical CAD Designer who will play a key role in the design and development of advanced aerospace and defense systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, utilizing CAD software to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings for various components and systems.
Responsibilities
- CAD Design: Utilize SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings for aerospace and defense components and systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into overall system architecture.
- Design Optimization: Conduct thorough analysis and optimization of mechanical designs to meet performance, weight, and manufacturing requirements while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Prototyping Support: Collaborate with the prototyping and testing teams to ensure the successful transition of designs from concept to physical prototypes, addressing any design challenges or modifications as needed.
- Documentation: Generate and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, engineering change orders, and technical reports.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all designs meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety, adhering to industry-specific regulations and customer requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in aerospace and defense engineering, contributing to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (5-10 years) as a Mechanical CAD Designer in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of aerospace and defense engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASME, MIL-STD).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
