Mechanical CAD Designer

Bascom Hunter designs, develops, and manufactures environmental control systems and components for the aerospace and defense industry. Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Support the wider Engineering team by preparing high-quality drawings and bill of materials using CAD software
• Provide solutions to a variety of technical inquiries using your knowledge and expertise
• Deliver all drawings according to an agreed-upon timeline, cost estimate, and all relevant quality standards
• Ensure accurate application and implementation of standard processes and tools in the preparation of accurate drawings
• Other duties as assigned by engineering manager

Requirements

• Experience designing/drafting mechanical components and assemblies in CAD
• Ability to read and interpret detailed customer drawings
• Thorough understanding of common manufacturing and joining processes for metal, plastic, and composite parts
• Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing along with ASME Y14.5 (2009 or newer)
• Thorough understanding of CAD software and PDM vaults
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Able to work with minimal supervision

Qualifications

• Preference for candidates with SolidWorks experience
• Preference for candidate with working knowledge of aerospace specifications and standards
• Preference for associate degree in drafting or mechanical design

This position is 100% onsite.
