About the role
The Project Lead is responsible for producing and assembling machine(s) and machine parts according to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Reads and follows blueprints, shop orders, specifications, and other instructions to build and assemble parts and equipment accurately and timely
- Operates material handling equipment
- Assists coordinator and leads project teams by providing project-related information
- Sets up and runs assemblies per specifications
- Measures parts accurately using scales, micrometers, and calipers
- Utilizes overhead crane and rigging procedures
- Fabricates sheet metal
- Travels to customer sites to install kits and machinery
- Oversees contracted employees during assembly and install at customer facilities
- Trains other employees
- Performs department clean up and improvement projects
- Manages material inventory
- Manages and completes dispatch report
- Performs and manages line audit teams and Bill of Material (BOM)
Occasional responsibilities include utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment, assisting other departments, facility maintenance and upgrades.
Requirements
- Education generally equivalent to a High School diploma
- Journeyman Millwright certification, Associates in Electromechanical field, or Equivalent Years Of Experience Preferred
- Mathematical Skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and to make metric system conversions
- Previous assembly experience
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and other manufacturing instructions
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically
- Ability to navigate CAD documents
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- Knowledge and ability to use hand tools and machine tools such as drill press, band saw, cut-off saw and grinder
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with others to proactively develop solutions
- Ability to train others
Familiarity with carpentry and pneumatics is a plus.
