Our Hillsboro site produces world-class electron microscopes used by scientists and engineers to drive innovation around the globe. This role works to produce high-quality components used in the world’s finest tools by researchers like Nobel prize winners and the teams who imaged the COVID-19 virus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assembly, alignments, and final configurations of components.
  • Conduct assembly work applying prescribed methods using a variety of hand tools, fixtures, and test equipment.
  • Collect test data, use databases and other office programs to document the manufacturing process.
  • Participate in resolving production challenges and making process decisions.
  • Assist in the selection and/or set-up of specialized equipment.
  • Perform a wide variety of troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.
  • Perform equipment set-up, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
  • Follow audit and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience required.
  • Background in precision mechanical assembly and low-volume, sophisticated manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, 6S, and continuous improvement a plus.
  • Previous assembly experience in a Clean Room environment is a plus.
  • Experience with Windows-based and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language, and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to work in appropriate PPE.
  • Cleanroom restrictions: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, or facial hair allowed.

Schedule

  • First Shift (Days)
  • 2nd Shift: Noon or 2:00 PM start time, Monday - Friday (includes 10% shift differential)

Pay

  • Pay Range: $23 to $24 per hour
  • Additional shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts
  • Annual performance-based bonus
  • Annual merit performance-based increase
