About the Role
This is an entry-level position in the Cargo Assembly group. As a Mechanical Assembler I, you will work under the direct supervision of a Manufacturing Team Leader, performing assembly operations, functional testing, and kitting/packaging of hardware for shipment. The role requires a quality-oriented individual who can work in a team environment and maintain a safe, clean workspace.
Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions.
- Operate hand tools, air tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment, and light equipment.
- Maintain inventory of product in workstations.
- Perform quality work checks, identify product defects, and record identified defects.
- Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Requirements
- High School diploma (or equivalent, e.g., GED in the U.S.) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to support customer demands.
- Ability to function productively as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to work in a standing position up to 8 hours per day.
