About the role
As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for the assembly and disassembly of feeders, pumps, top separator screws & baskets, suction rolls, crown compensating rolls, and other types of rolls including gear driven units. You will set up and operate drill press saws, boring and milling machines, surface grinders, bearing presses, and lifting devices. You will also rebuild the above assemblies. This role requires experience working with large, heavy manufacturing equipment and the ability to run overhead cranes and forklifts safely and efficiently. This is a 2nd shift position.
You will ensure a quality product is provided consistently while continuing to strive for improvement.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and disassemble feeders, pumps, top separator screws & baskets, suction rolls, crown compensating rolls, and other types of rolls including gear driven units
- Set up and operate drill press saws, boring and milling machines, surface grinders, bearing presses, and lifting devices
- Rebuild assemblies as required
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely and efficiently
- Maintain consistent quality and seek continuous improvement
Requirements
- High school education with previous manufacturing experience; ideally a minimum of three to five years
- Knowledge of papermaking machinery is a plus but not required
- Willingness to work with and train candidates with a high level of initiative and personal motivation
