Mechanical Assembler

Location: York, Pennsylvania • Onsite • Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm or 7am-3:30pm

About the role

System One is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to assemble major components and sub-assemblies for blow molding, sheet line, extrusion machinery, and auxiliary equipment. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and/or install major components with their respective sub-assemblies with little or no supervision.
• Perform assembly functions involving layouts, positioning of components, maintaining specified tolerances, alignment of drive couplings and pinion gears, roller chain and belt installations, and bore-sighting in reference to job assignment.
• Assist in start-up, processing, repairs, and re-builds.
• Identify equipment needs or safety issues pertaining to the operation and condition of the equipment.
• Operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, saws, surface grinders, and other tools to make repairs or custom installations.
• Operate forklift, as needed, in a safe manner.
• Maintain good housekeeping and follow safety rules.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine or industrial assembly.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Forklift certification.
• Willingness to purchase own tools.
• Basic understanding of electronics.
• Availability to work overtime as needed.
• Must pass a physical examination by a company-approved physician to meet physical and medical standards for the role.
