*Mechanical Assembler

Job Purpose

This assembler position is an integral part of the electrical/mechanical production team. Primary responsibilities will be interrupting schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions to complete the wiring on control panels.

Nature Of Duties

• Demonstrates the ability to read, interpret and follow assembly drawings, diagrams, and schematics to determine components parts and assembly sequence
• Performs a wide variety of electronic or electromechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies, which may vary from sitting to standing, moving line to stationary, with very light to medium weight components
• Fulfills quality, environmental, health and safety specification requirements
• Prepares all surfaces and components as necessary to ensure no damage occurs during assembly and testing
• Uses hand and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications
• Displays strong mechanical aptitude for use of tools in productions operations
• Shows proven ability to perform a build using a connection list and schematic
• Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly
• Inspects parts for imperfections and inspect, test and adjust completed units
• Identifies and reports any faulty components or hazards during the assembly process
• Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications
• Point to point wiring per work instruction, diagram schematics, short/continuity test, Hipot test, and test assembled parts to ensure functionality
• Absorbs abilities to stand for long periods of time, climb up and down ladders, bend, grasp, sit, pull, push, stoop, stretch
• Assists assemblers in performing assembly tasks
• May assist in electrical work
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education And Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the switchgear manufacturing environment
• Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English
• Proficient in Google suite, MS office or equivalent
• Abilities to read and interpret drawings
• Abilities to follow work instructions and procedures
• Works consistently under safety regulations
• Abilities to lift up to 60lb on an occasional basis
• Works overtime as required based on business needs
