About the role

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling mechanical components and systems according to engineering specifications. You will work with a team of professionals to ensure that the final product meets quality standards and customer requirements. Your attention to detail and ability to work with precision tools and equipment will be essential to the success of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical assembly work on both basic and intermediate sub and final assemblies according to drawings, written procedures, and bills of materials.
  • Work with other team members to assemble products.
  • Repair and adjust products to match changes to specifications and resolve assembly problems.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Secure tools, materials, and equipment at the end of the day.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years mechanical repair, or equivalent technical training/certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics, job orders, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to co-workers, management, vendors, suppliers, and customers.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact in a positive and professional manner to develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers, management, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Skill in the fabrication, joining, and repair of a variety of metal objects, equipment, fixtures, and structures.
  • Use department equipment such as forklift, ladder/scaffold, overhead crane, and power tools.
