Put together parts, sub-assemblies, or complete mechanical products using hand tools, power tools, and blueprints. Ensure quality control, inspect components for correct fit, and maintain safety standards on a production or factory floor.
Responsibilities
- Read Blueprints: Interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and engineering specifications.
- Fasten Components: Align, fit, and secure parts using bolts, screws, rivets, or adhesives.
- Use Tools: Operate hand tools, power tools, and automated or robotic equipment safely.
- Quality Control: Test and inspect finished or in-progress assemblies for defects or performance issues.
- Maintain Workspace: Keep tools clean, organized, and follow standard factory safety protocols.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience.
- Ability to stand for long hours, use hand-eye coordination, and lift up to 50 lbs.
