Responsibilities

  • Apply technical standards, principles, and theories in daily work.
  • Understand and utilize concepts and principles of FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
  • Differentiate between linear FEM analysis and non-linear transient dynamic analysis.
  • Work under general supervision to solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Determine theoretical principles and apply advanced analytical and investigative methods.
  • Build CAD models of complex systems.
  • Generate meshes for all parts of complex systems and perform FEA analysis.
  • Analyze assigned tasks to estimate manpower and material requirements.
  • Develop new applications requiring originality, ingenuity, and complex test procedures for equipment and systems.
  • Provide expertise in developing or modifying computer-based scientific and technical software systems.
  • Design, develop, code, test, and debug software.
  • Work in areas such as software design, engineering evaluation, testing, configuration management, statistical analysis, or modeling.
  • Provide analytical support and technical advice during conceptualization, development, and implementation phases.
  • Develop, release, and maintain documentation per company and contractual requirements.
  • Review, write, and edit reports (e.g., evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals) to provide recommendations and conclusions.

Requirements

  • BS with 2–4 years of experience or MS with 0–2 years of experience in one of the following degrees:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Aerospace Engineering
    • Physics (emphasis in shock physics)
    • Computer Science (emphasis in technical programming)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (including class/schoolwork); Abaqus experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Mesh Development (including class/schoolwork); Pointwise, Patran, or Hyperworks experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD (including class/schoolwork); CREO preferred.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Products.
  • Familiarity with C, C++, Fortran, or Cuda.

Pay

Projected compensation range: $67,565.76 – $117,483.74. Final salary/hourly rate may vary based on factors such as relevant work experience, skills, geographic location, education, certifications, and contract wage determinations.
