Mechanic/Vehicle Technician
Job Summary
The Mechanic/Vehicle Technician will diagnose and repair various components of vehicles including gasoline engines, powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems. Hours are Monday-Friday, with a flexible start time between 12:00PM and 3:00PM, and wages range from $20.00-$33.00 per hour, with a $2.00 per hour shift differential. Occasional Saturdays may be required for full-time positions, with paid overtime available after 40 hours per week.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair gasoline engines and other powertrain components
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair diesel emission systems
- Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment
- Help maintain an effective and clean work environment
- Operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn
- Use scan tool and laptop technology
- Follow reasonable instructions from shift leader
- Work independently and/or with a team
- Perform other related duties as assigned

- Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive
- Ability to work in a work environment involving hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair
