Ryder is hiring in Suncook, New Hampshire — offering a technician career with weekly pay, excellent benefits, and state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools for heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair.

Pay

Hourly pay: $38.60 per hour

  • $100 certification bonus for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
  • Sign-on bonus: $3,500
  • Yearly merit pay increases

Schedule

Sunday–Wednesday, 4 × 10-hour days

Second shift: 2:00 pm – 1:00 am

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Vocational or technical certification (preferred)
  • Post-secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)
  • Basic tools (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
    • Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
    • Basic diagnostics and repairs (AC and electrical systems)
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience (preferred)
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred; must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Proficiency with computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
  • Must pass:
    • Ryder drug test
    • DOT physical
    • Ryder road test
    • Ryder background and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)

Responsibilities

  • Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including:
    • Standard vehicle maintenance
    • Preventive maintenance
    • Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
    • Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
    • Replaces defective components as instructed
    • Works unsupervised on most tasks
  • Performs facility maintenance duties
  • Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Works in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
  • Acts as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
  • Demonstrates ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
  • Completes additional training:
    • SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT220)
    • Complete 2 OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses (predominant OEM of fleet mix completed within 365 days)
  • Provides support duties as required, including Service Island support
