About the role

Directs or performs advanced-level mechanical work on equipment at compressor, pipeline, storage, gathering, fractionation, and/or gas processing facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical work on fixed and rotating equipment, including:
    • Internal combustion, diesel, and natural gas-powered engines and electrical drivers
    • Compressors, pumps, generators, turbines, valves, electrical equipment, and well equipment
  • Service, troubleshoot, maintain, install, and repair structural, mechanical, electrical, and/or well equipment.
  • Conduct and interpret performance analyses, including emissions testing.
  • Train and direct employees involved in mechanical work.
  • Order and/or secure parts and supplies.
  • Drive and ensure maintenance is complete on company vehicles.
  • Maintain, prepare, and/or interpret reports and records, including:
    • Work logs and service orders
    • Inspection reports
    • Engine/equipment maintenance and repair records
    • Pressure readings
    • Material and supply orders
    • Engine and compressor oil analysis reports
  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline.
  • Respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions to prevent injury or property damage.

Requirements

  • Experience in the use and function of hand and power tools applicable to the position.
  • Advanced experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing equipment.
  • Knowledge of company and/or governmental operating/safety policies and procedures.
  • Advanced experience in troubleshooting equipment abnormalities and failure modes analysis.
  • Experience reading and interpreting:
    • Work and repair orders
    • Drawings, charts, diagrams
    • Dials, gauges, warranties, quotations, procedures, and equipment manuals
  • Experience preparing, processing, and verifying records, safety and environmental reports, diagrams, and material/supply orders.
  • Ability to:
    • Apply addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and percentages
    • Communicate and exchange information and instructions
    • Work in confined areas
    • React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others
    • Operate tools and equipment
    • Perform precise tuning/timing work
    • Utilize fine motor skills for making minute adjustments

Qualifications

  • None required for education.
  • Experience and advanced knowledge in relevant mechanical work.

  • Knowledge of ordering and/or securing parts and supplies.

Pay

Expected salary range: $84,000.00 - $126,000.00.
