About the Role

This position performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance of gas compressor packages, air compressors, and Generac generators under general supervision. It involves diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical issues, adjusting functional parts, and maintaining equipment to meet manufacturing specifications and permitting guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of gas compressor packages, air compressors, and Generac generators.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues with Generac generators, natural gas compressor packages, and single/three-phase air compressors.
  • Assist with adjusting functional parts of mechanical and electrical devices or determine actionable steps to resolve issues.
  • Maintain and operate equipment to meet manufacturing specifications and permitting guidelines.
  • Accurately complete and submit work orders in a timely manner; log and update the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.

Skills

  • Basic operational mechanical and maintenance knowledge of natural gas engines and gas compressors.
  • Basic knowledge of electric motors and controls.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Understanding of pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and standard office equipment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively internally and externally.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter; ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining goals and tasks.
  • Ability to build relationships and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools; recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in the field and may be subject to the following conditions:

  • Extreme temperatures (below 32°F or above 100°F for extended periods).
  • High noise levels requiring shouting to be heard above ambient noise.
  • Exposure to vibration, confined spaces, and hazards (e.g., moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, combustibles, explosives).
  • Frequent traversal of challenging terrain to perform work, evaluate sites, and inspect equipment/assets.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lift, push, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, and crouch.

Travel

Approximately 95% of time is spent in the field, with minimal travel required to other locations.
