Mechanic, Maintenance - 3rd Shift

About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic - 3rd Shift (11:00pm - 7:30am) is responsible for maintenance and repair of all equipment within the manufacturing operation, working with minimal supervision. This position performs preventive maintenance on manufacturing, packaging, and supporting equipment, executes line equipment changeovers, and collaborates closely with multiple departments. You’ll work with modern equipment, solve mechanical challenges, and play a critical role in keeping operations running smoothly. The role involves working around ingredients such as peanuts, milk, soy, and gluten.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair all manufacturing and facilities support equipment
• Determine appropriate components and repair equipment to minimize production downtime
• Coordinate, implement, and participate in scheduling preventive maintenance on all manufacturing and facilities support equipment
• Monitor and maintain HVAC systems to ensure proper climate control and energy efficiency
• Maintain and repair dust collection systems
• Complete and maintain necessary documentation, including cGMP documents, PMs, and work orders in CMMS
• Identify occupational hazards and follow safety precautions, including lock-out/tag-out procedures
• Execute production line changeovers
• Request parts and materials needed to complete tasks
• Maintain strong product safety and housekeeping standards

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical institution certification or degree preferred
• Minimum of five years of hands-on maintenance experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or packaging environment
• Minimum of one year of experience in a food supplement, food contact, or food manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Ability to install, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and related components of manufacturing and packaging equipment
• Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, including floor plans
• Good understanding of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) functions and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with VFDs, brushless DC, and DC controller systems
• Knowledge of programming and troubleshooting various brands of temperature controllers
• Experience with CMMS software, preferably e-Maintenance
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
• Effective communication in verbal and written English
• Flexibility with work schedule and willingness to work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electronic field or two years of certification in a related field
• Experience in metal and/or machinery fabrication
