About the Role
Perform highly skilled mechanical repair work on school buses, trucks, and other District vehicles. Lead servicing activities related to the maintenance of automotive equipment, plan, assign, schedule, and coordinate the workload of mechanics.
Responsibilities
- Perform highly skilled mechanical repairs on school buses, trucks, and other District vehicles.
- Lead and coordinate servicing activities for automotive equipment maintenance.
- Plan, assign, schedule, and oversee the workload of mechanics.
- Serve as a CNG Fuel System Inspector.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of verifiable experience as a mechanic, with a focus on heavy-duty mechanical work. Experience in an educational setting preferred.
- College courses in Auto or Advanced Transportation, UTI, or trade school education.
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver License or higher with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements.
- CNG Certified and ability to serve as a CNG Fuel System Inspector.
- ASE Certified in at least three areas.
- Successfully pass the District test.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two letters of recommendation dated and signed within the last twelve (12) months.
Pay
Monthly salary range: $6,010 - $6,624 (Step 45 on the Classified Salary Schedule).
