Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and identify the causes of unexpected equipment breakdowns.
- Conduct root cause analysis and repair packaging and facilities equipment (i.e., mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automation systems) to improve operational efficiencies and uptime.
- Make necessary modifications, perform test runs and confer with the maintenance manager regarding results; implement additional alterations to machinery as needed.
- Complete efficient equipment setups per the daily packaging schedule.
- Track and complete all equipment work orders and preventative maintenance to ensure OSHA & FDA compliance.
- Fabricate parts to perform repairs and integrate new equipment installations into existing packaging lines.
- Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and plant and departmental procedures and guidelines.
- Work closely with outside vendors and technical representatives on control, electrical and electronic system issues and designs.
- Maintain clean and organized shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies in compliance with 5S requirements.
- Partner with Engineering on special projects, new equipment installations and modifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required or 5 years of equivalent work history required.
- Vocational or community college coursework in related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Certification: Technical certification preferred (Manufacturing technician, Controls technician, etc).
- Experience: Requires a minimum of four years of related experience in technical or maintenance roles.
