About the role

The Mechanic II plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and optimal performance of Uvalde Memorial Hospital's facilities through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on various systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and generator systems
• Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and issues
• Support work order management and regulatory compliance
• Manage equipment inventory and collaborate with vendors and contractors

Requirements

• Experience in facility maintenance, mechanical systems, or a related trade preferred
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Current certifications in relevant areas (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
