About the Role
Pratt & Whitney is transforming the future of flight by designing, building, and servicing groundbreaking engines. As a Mechanic/HVAC on the 2nd shift, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing the facilities equipment that powers our operations. This position is onsite, and commuting to the assigned site is the employee’s responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Operate, install, overhaul, maintain, and repair a variety of facilities equipment, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and utility systems.
- Perform system installation, adjustments, and component replacements using drawings, sketches, and manuals to restore service.
- Overhaul standard piping systems, pumps, and related devices, including cutting, bending, and fitting materials.
- Assist with complex projects for new and refurbished systems under the direction of a Leader/Supervisor.
- Collaborate with other trades on joint projects where skill crossover allows for shared responsibilities.
- Refer technical difficulties to the Leader/Supervisor.
- Perform similar duties throughout the facility within the scope of this role.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of industry experience or a trade school diploma in a related field.

- Priority consideration is given to internal candidates and recall employees covered by the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit (District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746, Connecticut Operations).
