Responsibilities
- Participates in the installation, repair, maintenance, and service of a wide variety of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
- Operates a variety of hand and power tools.
- Lifts and carries HVACR equipment, parts, tools, supplies, and materials.
- Climbs ladders, crawls, bends, and stoops to access HVACR systems.
- Drives an automobile or light truck to transport workers, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
- Screws, bolts, and brazes parts to assemble HVACR components such as motors, pneumatic and electronic controls, switches, gauges, wiring harnesses, valves, pumps, compressors, condensers, and pipes.
- Records and maintains accurate records of work performed, time and materials used.
- Reads blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Communicates appropriately and frequently with faculty, school administrators, supervisor/manager(s), and other employees.
Qualifications
- Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent.
- One year of professional HVACR experience.
- Possession of a State of Maryland apprentice HVACR license or an equivalent.
- Possession of a valid class C Maryland driver's license or an equivalent.
