Pay
- Hourly rate: $38.15 per hour
- Quarterly bonus: up to $500 (four times per year)
- Sign-on bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
Schedule
- Tuesday–Saturday
- Second shift hours:
- Tuesday–Thursday: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
- Friday: 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm
- Saturday: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification, or post-secondary degree (preferred)
- Basic tools (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in:
- Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Basic diagnostics and repairs (AC and electrical systems)
- Three or more years of relevant work experience (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred; must be able to obtain within 6 months after hire)
- All other certifications as required by location
- Proficiency with computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- Must pass:
- Ryder drug test
- DOT physical
- Ryder road test
- Ryder background and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
Responsibilities
- Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including:
- Standard vehicle maintenance
- Preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
- Completing complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replacing defective components as instructed
- Works unsupervised on most tasks
- Performs facility maintenance duties
- Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints
- Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Works in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Acts as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Accesses and uses internal and external maintenance documents
- Provides Service Island support and other operational duties as required
- Completes SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220)
- Completes 2 OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses (predominant OEM of fleet mix within 365 days)
