Pay

$27.50 per hour

• $100 certification bonus for each new ASE certification obtained (up to $700)
• Quarterly bonus up to $500 (four times per year)

Schedule

• Tuesday – Saturday
• Second Shift: Tuesday – Thursday 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, Friday 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm, Saturday 6:30 am – 3:00 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Vocational or technical certification, or post-secondary degree (preferred)
• Basic tools (required)
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
  • Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
  • Two or more years of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred)
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A (preferred)
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Must pass:
  • Ryder drug test
  • DOT physical
  • Ryder road test
  • Ryder background and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections, and repairs
• Performs preventive maintenance
• Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required
• Replaces defective components as instructed
• Performs facility maintenance duties
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
• Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Works in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
• Performs other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)
