Mechanic Building Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance (PM's) on equipment.
• Perform quality work in a safe fashion and understand all safety rules for the task being performed.
• Enter work into the computer maintenance system throughout the shift and use the system to review repeat repairs and previous work performed on equipment.
• Safely shut down systems they have been trained on.
• Perform simple tasks without instruction or guidance.
• Ensure all equipment meets standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Progress to Mechanic II through education and/or demonstrated ability.
• Serve as a resource to others in resolving complex problems and issues.
• Work in difficult body positions and environmental conditions from time to time.
• Learn more complex tasks as experience is gained.

Requirements

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
• Dexterity with both hands.
• Mechanics are required to supply their own tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in mechanical areas.
