What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and optimize mechanical systems: Troubleshoot, repair, and improve mechanical components on high speed can lines equipment to ensure consistent performance and minimize downtime
  • Operate manufacturing machinery: Run and maintain can line equipment, making necessary adjustments to keep operations running smoothly
  • Ensure precision and accuracy: Use tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to measure components within tight tolerances of .0010 to meet quality standards
  • Monitor production flow: Track product quality and line efficiency, identifying and resolving issues to prevent disruptions
  • Solve technical issues: Diagnose mechanical and quality-related problems and apply hands-on solutions to improve equipment reliability and performance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement: Offer ideas that enhance safety, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency across your work area

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year or more experience in manufacturing, mechanical diagnostics and repairs, or similar experience
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools
  • Willingness to operate and maintain Silgan's can lines by performing and documenting quality checks
