Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions by utilizing service manuals, parts books, electrical, and hydraulic manuals.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, general/major maintenance and repairs, diagnostics, inspection, disassembly/assembly according to requirements in shop work orders.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer specifications.
  • Ability to operate various equipment including forklifts, aerial lifts, and service trucks.
  • Familiar with underground mobile equipment braking regulations, testing and adjusting such components.
  • Comply with all Redpath USA Corporation and Owners safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to safely operate and move various mine equipment for servicing.
  • Understand confined space, fall protection, equipment isolation, and basic welding standards and procedures.
  • Order parts accurately and complete all necessary paperwork involved.
  • Ensure planned maintenance is carried out per the maintenance schedule.
  • Able to perform basic welding and cutting.
  • Perform safe and timely emergency repairs to equipment.
  • Ensure that all the spares and tools are available and serviceable.
  • Responsible to keep work areas safe and free of hazards.
  • Performs Field Level Risk Assessments.
  • Must be able to follow proper procedures to ensure safety and to control equipment damage.
  • Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Comply with daily, weekly and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information.
  • Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath’s Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Qualifications

  • High School, GED, and/or higher education.
  • Recognized trade certificate, in the maintenance or repair field preferred.
  • Documented maintenance experience of 5 years.
  • Concentration in heavy equipment maintenance of mining equipment, including, but not limited to, Haul Trucks, Dozers, Jumbo Drill, Hydraulic Shovels, Motor Graders, Front End Loaders, etc.
  • Requires minimum 2 years experience in Underground mining.
  • Full working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Full working knowledge of braking systems, steering systems, suspension systems, payload systems, compressed air systems, engine tune-up requirements, electronic engine controls, drive trains and electric drive haul truck braking/dynamic systems.
  • Must have a working knowledge of all tools and equipment necessary to work in the Maintenance Department.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations pertaining to equipment.
  • High level of attention to detail, neatness and accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
