Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, or performance issues.
  • Diagnose problems using testing equipment, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, brake service, and tire rotations.
  • Repair or replace faulty parts, components, and systems in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Understand steering, suspension, and mechanical systems.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure it operates properly and meets safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate service records, repair notes, and parts usage documentation.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures.
  • Communicate repair needs, timelines, and recommendations clearly to supervisors, service advisors, or customers.
  • Stay current on new tools, systems, and repair techniques.

Qualifications

  • Technical training in automotive, diesel, or equipment repair preferred.
  • Previous mechanic experience in a shop, fleet, dealership, or industrial setting preferred.
  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and repair software effectively.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license required with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to be on time and dependable.
  • A positive attitude is a must.

Physical Requirements

  • This role may require standing for extended periods, lifting to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and working in varying temperatures and shop conditions.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures are always required.
