Mechanic

Position Summary

Position Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, visual inspections, minor repairs, and calibrations.
  • Troubleshoot and perform major mechanical repairs such as changing motors, pumps, gearboxes, belts, sprockets, pulleys, and other mechanical components.
  • Address and repair urgent breakdowns, prioritizing safety and food safety concerns.
  • Communicate with the maintenance team to provide timely repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs, PMs, and maintenance checks.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate parts inventory and organization.
  • Fill out purchase requisitions for maintenance-related parts and supplies.
  • Follow safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years' work experience in the food manufacturing industry, repairing and maintaining packaging equipment, electrical controls, and ancillary equipment.
  • Industrial Technical courses in maintenance/electrical repair.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Effective in a fast-paced environment, responsive to instruction and supervision.
  • Available to work flexible shifts, hours, and overtime.
  • Forklift driving experience a plus.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs.
  • Confined space, high elevation, ladder, roof, and under-equipment work.
  • Work in awkward positions (bending, climbing, lifting, pulling, pushing).
  • Work in industrial conditions (hot, cold, wet).
  • Wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Work in areas where tree nuts and related allergens are present.

Qualifications

Pay

The salary range for this position is $XX - $YY per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Exact pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including market rates and individual performance.

Schedule

This position requires flexibility and availability to work rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support production operations. Shifts may vary based on operational requirements.
