About the role
At Span Alaska Transportation, we keep Alaska moving and our Mechanics are critical to making that happen. In this hands-on Mechanic role, you’ll ensure our fleet operates safely, reliably, and efficiently by performing diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs on trucks and heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
- Fleet Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventative maintenance on forklifts
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems
- Complete DOT inspections
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
- Identify mechanical issues and test repairs
- Operational Support
- Generate and complete work orders
- Maintain clean and safe workspace
- Team Collaboration
- Partner with drivers and operations teams
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years mechanic experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Extra credit if you have:
- CDL (Class A or B)
- Air Brake Certification

Pay
The hourly range is posted for this position in Washington. The hourly rate will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
