Mechanic

Louis Allis is growing! We are currently looking for experienced electric motor mechanics to join our team.

Schedule

• 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
• 2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 2:30 pm to 1:00 am
• Occasional overtime and weekend work

Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble electric motors
• Inspect parts and measure machined fits with calipers and micrometers
• Document inspection and test data on shop forms
• Balance rotors and test run motors
• Paint motors
• Dismantle electric motors in accordance with Louis Allis processes and procedures
• Use micrometers and calipers to measure machined fits
• Inspect electric motor parts to determine repair needs and cause of failure
• Fill out shop documentation for work performed
• Dynamically balance rotors
• Perform winding/insulation tests, take vibration readings, and perform laser alignment
• Perform run testing on motors
• Utilize welding skills for fabrication and TIG welding needs
• Assist with field service, including traveling to customer locations when needed
• Assist other employees with skilled or non-skilled duties as directed
• Provide own tools and toolbox
• Observe all safety procedures and precautions
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned area, including cleaning machines and work areas
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including safety glasses and steel toe boots
