Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn and damaged parts.
- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventative maintenance, installing component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion and completing winterization procedures.
- Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major and minor assemblies and sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems including: power and drivetrains, electrical, a/c systems, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics, etc.
- Complete machine shop operations, making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
- Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
- Test and adjust engine, safety, and combustion control in compliance with state and federal standards.
- Maintain vehicle appearance.
- Maintain accurate, DOT compliant maintenance records and shop records.
- Contain costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Enhance maintenance department and organization reputation.
Additional Duties
- Completes preventive maintenance on all equipment.
- Inspects, repairs, and overhauls all equipment.
- Ensures services provided are in compliance with federal and state vehicle and safety requirements by testing engines, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
- Responsible for diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical trouble shooting, steering, and cooling systems.
- Occasionally delivers and picks up fuel tanks to industrial clients.
Other
- Communicate warehouse concerns to supervisor.
- Correct any system file maintenance issues as they occur.
- Assist the driver with deliveries as needed (if driving a Commercial Driver’s License must be obtained).
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times ensuring customer loyalty.
- Abide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures.
- Support corporate programs, goals, and initiatives of the company.
- Work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements
- Vision: minimum vision required to prevent injury from oneself and others.
- Hearing: perceiving the nature of sounds with or without correction.
- Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
- Lifting small weighed objects constantly; 20 pound objects frequently and 50-100 pound objects occasionally.
- Climbing ladders, stairs and ramps.
- Balancing, pushing and pulling.
- Crouching, kneeling, reaching and grasping objects.
- Walking: move about inside the office and/or branch facilities as well as airport/travel needs.
- Sit/Stand: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50 percent of the time.
- Capable of traveling as required.
Attendance Requirements
- Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory, including arriving at the time as scheduled.
