Mechanic

Discover a more connected career at Lambert's Cable. As a Mechanic/Truck Driver, you'll perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on the company's fleet of vehicles and equipment. You'll ensure all vehicles operate safely and efficiently, in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Determine repair or maintenance plans for vehicles and equipment based on cost/benefit analysis
• Conduct diagnostics to troubleshoot failures in vehicles and equipment
• Inspect and provide strategic recommendations for proactive maintenance
• Follow work procedures for the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment such as trackhoes, backhoes, and other specialized machinery
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations
• Ensure vehicles are clean and fueled at all times
• Operate and test vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have authorization to work in the United States for this company
• Hold an active CDL - A license
• Have a High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Have a valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Be capable of performing mechanics tasks independently
• Have a minimum of 1 year experience as a mechanic, preferably with a focus on fleet vehicles or commercial equipment
• Have knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Be proficient in diagnostic tools and equipment
• Have physical abilities to climb stairs, lift between 26 and 55 pounds, bend, stoop, fine hand motion, squeeze, stand, use portable ladder, walk, work in confined spaces, work with arms above shoulder level, operate heavy machinery and vehicles
