Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gas and diesel fleet vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic lift gates, and electrical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections in accordance with established maintenance schedules.
- Clean, inspect, and maintain fleet vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
- Complete emergency roadside service calls within the service area as needed.
- Install and remove vehicle decals and replace mechanical components, including motors, pumps, and gearboxes.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
- Train new drivers and provide guidance to less experienced fleet employees.
- Operate snow removal equipment and perform de-icing activities during winter weather events.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience repairing commercial vehicles and working with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and operate standard shop equipment and mechanic's tools.
- Safe driving record required.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based maintenance systems.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid DOT Medical Card and provide personal hand tools.
