Mechanic

About the role

Responsible for the thorough and efficient repair/maintenance of company trucks, tractor trailers, fork lifts, automobiles, and other heavy equipment to support the operational needs and operational efficiency expectations of the company.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
• Conduct basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance repairs, including installing mounted tires, replacing or rotating tires, completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
• Develop and utilize skills in partnership with your manager through Curtis's available technician training and hands-on mentoring.
• Work within a team, sharing expertise with others.
• Discuss repair plans with management.
• Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment through daily housekeeping.
• Stay updated on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 - 6 years of experience in diesel repair and service for heavy truck, light truck, automotive, small engine, and forklift.
• Welding and fabricating experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Formal training from community colleges, trade or vocational schools preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
