What Will You Do?

  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance on site infrastructure and manufacturing equipment.
  • Tracks repair history in the maintenance database.
  • Repair electric, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits as needed.
  • Replaces defective components to restore proper operation of equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Makes modifications to equipment to achieve desired results.
  • Maintains accurate records and metrics related to machine downtime due to maintenance issues.
  • Works with contractors verifying compliance to desired results.
  • Provide support on continuous improvement projects.
  • Perform activities relating to 6S in order to drive better workplace standardization.
  • Deliver timely responses to work orders, safety observations, departmental audits, findings.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner and observe approved safety procedures.
  • Respond promptly to minimize downtime, and drive improvements.
  • Communicate potential hazards immediately to the department coordinator or manager and identify and correct potential unsafe conditions.

Physical Work Environment

  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. and occasionally heavier (50-60 lbs.) with assistance.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking and occasional crawling.
  • Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of materials.
  • Occasional climbing and working at elevated positions.
  • Exposure to metal cutting, welding odors, welding flash and incidental acceptable limits of x-ray radiation.
  • Exposure to overhead objects and occasional flying debris.

Experience

  • Mechanic I: Minimum 1-3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanic II: Minimum 3-5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanic III: Minimum 5+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical knowledge of industrial powered equipment including forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes and hoists, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand maintenance instructions, schematics and blueprints, perform math computations and computer data entry.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and technical repair skills.
  • Electrical background and prior training required. Maintenance Electrician license or Journeyman’s or Masters license for the state of MN preferred.

Education

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Vocational/Technical training in machining, electrical or mechanical.
