About the Role

We are looking to add a 1st Shift Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic to our Omaha location. Pay is $26 - $38 per hour, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities
- Maintaining bus and coach fleets for our Great Plains locations.
- Ensuring the company has the safest coaches in service, free of mechanical defects, with all installed equipment in working order.
- Conducting diagnostic, repair, and routine service of our fleet.
- Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other parts to ensure proper operating condition.
- Repairing and maintaining engine parts, such as fuel injection systems.
- Repairing electrical systems.
- Changing tires on buses and support vehicles.
- Repairing gas/diesel engines and A.C. systems.
- Working evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate Degree or Technical College Certificates preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Brake and air conditioning certifications preferred.
- Fleet maintenance experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record required.
- Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire required.
- Basic computer skills, including ability to use systems and tools needed for job responsibilities.
- Clear and professional communication in English, both verbal and written.
- Strong problem-solving skills with proactive issue resolution.
- Self-motivated, efficient, and effective under time and budgetary constraints.
- Team-focused with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn, accept coaching, and support continuous improvement.
- Time management, organization, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to good attendance.
- Must have necessary tools to perform job responsibilities.
