Job Responsibilities and Tasks
- Disassemble and assemble bearing housings and internal roll components.
- Use air tools and hand tools, hydraulic bearing/gear pullers for inspection.
- Perform visual inspections of roll components and parts to ensure quality.
- Document repair requirements using company manuals and instructions.
- Handle rolls and components using overhead cranes and forklifts, up to 60 tons capacity.
- Apply knowledge and skills in basic hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, cutting with a torch, blueprint reading, and precision measurement.
- Have knowledge of bearings, chains, sprockets, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Perform basic computer/data entry tasks.
- Perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting, and stooping).
- Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toe boots, etc.)
- Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.
- Adhere to plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Help meet or exceed quality goals through a quality maintenance program.
Qualification Requirements
- Education: High school Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 2 years of relevant manufacturing-related mechanical or millwright experience, or 2 years technical training preferred.
- Knowledge: Solid mechanical aptitude skills, knowledge of bearings, chains, sprockets, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Additional: Clear drug screen and background check.
