About the Role
We are seeking a dependable Mechanic Assistant with a solid foundation in basic mechanics to support our maintenance team with servicing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and equipment. This role is ideal for someone who already knows their way around a tool set, understands fundamental vehicle systems, and is eager to expand their skills under the guidance of experienced technicians.
Responsibilities
- Assist mechanics with inspections, maintenance, and repairs on company vehicles and equipment
- Perform basic tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, tire repairs, and fluid checks
- Clean and organize the shop, work areas, and tools
- Prepare parts, materials, and tools needed for repairs
- Help with equipment moves and deliveries as needed
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Operate hand tools and power tools under supervision
- Assist with inventory counts and ordering supplies
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the shop team
Must have their own set of tools.
Requirements
- Prior experience in automotive or equipment maintenance is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed
