Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Valid license/certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
- Texas commercial driver's license (Class B or A) with "P" and "S" endorsements
- Texas Department of Public Safety School Bus Driver Certification
- Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to pass Texas Department of Public Safety school bus driver physical exam
- Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests
- Must be able to pass criminal history check and MVR driving record check
- Proficiently read, write, and communicate verbally in English
- Experience: One-year experience in auto/truck maintenance and repair, preferred
Working Conditions
- Tools/Equipment Used: Wheel balancing equipment; tire repairing equipment; small hand tools; power tools; welding torch; torque wrench; jack and lift equipment; school bus and district vehicles.
- Posture: Frequent standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Motion: Frequent walking; frequent climbing, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving
- Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis
Environment
- Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces
- Frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, vibration, and electrical hazards
- Work around machinery with moving parts
- May work in tight or enclosed spaces
- May work alone
- Regularly work irregular hours
- Occasional prolonged hours
