About the role
Transdev is seeking an experienced A-Level Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team in Phoenix, Arizona. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on diesel engines.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
- Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
- ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
- Mechanic’s Tool Set.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
Qualifications
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
- Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require the ability to work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions; sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces; push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to file or equipment stored at ground level; withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.

Pay
Starting pay $33.77 with progression to $36.46 over 4 months. ASE $0.25 per cert, $0.30 additional for master ASE. Master ASE total $2.30 above hourly rate.
