Ryan Lawn & Tree is looking for an experienced Mechanic 2 for our Shawnee, KS branch to keep our fleet of vehicles and equipment safe, reliable, and ready to work. Our field teams count on dependable trucks, mowers, sprayers, and machinery to serve our clients every day. You'll handle preventative maintenance and repairs, diagnose problems, keep accurate service records, and help your coworkers take better care of the equipment they use. What You'll Do Maintain and Repair the Fleet Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all Ryan Lawn & Tree vehicles, equipment, and machineryUse computerized diagnostic tools to find and fix problemsWeld and complete minor fabrication as neededConduct maintenance inspections and keep the fleet in line with DOT guidelinesCoordinate with outside vendors on repairs that need to be sent out Keep Things Organized Log maintenance records and data in Fleetio dailyMonitor parts and supply inventoryKeep the shop floor and workspace clean and organizedPick up and deliver equipment and parts Support the Team Communicate daily with field teams about repair timelines, maintenance expectations, and equipment issuesTrain and coach new hires and field associates on best practices for equipment careGive input on capital equipment planning for different departmentsHelp manage a safe, efficient fleet within the maintenance budget Requirements 4+ years of mechanic experience, or a vocational certification or associate's degree in mechanical repairStrong knowledge & experience for preventative maintenance and repair for diesel trucks (Silverado to Freightliner), small construction equipment (skid steer to spreader), and hydraulic system repairs (mini-skid steer to bucket trucks and grapple loaders)A thorough understanding of the DOT inspection processExperience with computerized diagnostic equipmentWelding and minor fabrication skillsStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to juggle multiple prioritiesExcellent organization, attention to detail, and communication skillsA valid driver's licenseThe ability to lift 50 pounds and work in tight spaces in and under vehiclesSuccessful completion of position-specific Ryan U training and field assessmentGeneral knowledge of the Great Game of Business (GGOB) and department operations is a plus Why work at Ryan?
