About the role

Covia is seeking a dynamic Mechanic to join the Operations team at its Junction City, GA location. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining production equipment and ensuring quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on production equipment and takes corrective action.
  • Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Examines, tests, and measures products from assigned equipment for quality specifications, using gauges and instruments, and records data on appropriate forms.
  • Makes preventive maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor, and takes appropriate action.
  • Analyze and record the cause of production delays on daily maintenance reports.
  • Conveyer Belt Repair and Regular Maintenance: Clean, repair, and rebuild pumps, cylinders, solenoids, and air valves.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Bearings
  • Ambitious and self-motivated worker
  • Able to prioritize work schedule to execute in order of importance
  • Must be able to cut and weld (stick, mig, oxy/act, plasma, etc.)
  • Electrical experience is preferred
  • Available to be on-call
  • Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools, read blueprints, service bulletins, etc.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts or stay over shift if needed
  • Commitment to our culture

Qualifications

  • Must be available to be on-call
