About the role
Covia is seeking a dynamic Mechanic to join the Operations team at its Junction City, GA location. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining production equipment and ensuring quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on production equipment and takes corrective action.
- Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Examines, tests, and measures products from assigned equipment for quality specifications, using gauges and instruments, and records data on appropriate forms.
- Makes preventive maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor, and takes appropriate action.
- Analyze and record the cause of production delays on daily maintenance reports.
- Conveyer Belt Repair and Regular Maintenance: Clean, repair, and rebuild pumps, cylinders, solenoids, and air valves.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Bearings
- Ambitious and self-motivated worker
- Able to prioritize work schedule to execute in order of importance
- Must be able to cut and weld (stick, mig, oxy/act, plasma, etc.)
- Electrical experience is preferred
- Available to be on-call
- Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools, read blueprints, service bulletins, etc.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts or stay over shift if needed
