Responsibilities
- Create concepts for new machine functions.
- Create technical solutions and assembly drawings.
- Contact suppliers to clarify functions of their systems.
- Support purchasing in evaluating offers and suppliers.
- Create product concept catalogue and specification workbook.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
- Perform work under minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (4-year) in Mechanical Engineering/BSME required.
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing in an engineering capacity.
- Experience in hygiene, personal care, or roll converting industry knowledge a plus.
- Minimum of three years design engineer experience with a strong knowledge of CAD.
Skills
- SolidWorks experience with high functionality.
- First-hand experience in leading project teams and in project management.
- Handle complex issues and problems and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
- Able to travel 10%.
