Responsibilities
- Prepare and display meat items for sale in accordance with company standards and policies.
- Wait on customers and provide customer service, demonstrating leadership behaviors and core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
- Check product quality to ensure freshness, safety, and proper rotation of merchandise.
- Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers, carts, tools, and supplies clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Work display cases to ensure proper inventory levels and freshness.
- Unload trucks, sort, and prepare merchandise for sale.
- Wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and Health Department policies.
- Provide prompt, cheerful, and friendly service to customers, assisting them in finding products.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and maintaining a harassment-free work environment.
- Maintain equipment and facilities safely and properly in accordance with company policies.
- Perform any and all duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Able to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
- Qualified and able to operate power tools (automatic wrapper, slicer, grinder, power saw, jack, etc.).
- Must work safely with various chemically based cleaning solutions.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and assist all members of the department.
- Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations while maintaining a positive impression on associates and customers.
Qualifications
- Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
- Dependable and integrity-driven work record.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, and food handling.
