Responsibilities

  • Prepare and display meat items in accordance with company standards and policies.
  • Wait on customers and provide customer service.
  • Demonstrate company's leadership behaviors and core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
  • Work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Communicate effectively through both writing and speaking.
  • Read and understand shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
  • Operate power and various job tools (automatic wrapper, slicer, grinder, power saw, jack, etc.).
  • Work safely with various chemically based cleaning solutions.
  • Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Handle stressful situations calmly and positively.
  • Communicate with customers and fellow associates.
  • Unload trucks, sort, and prepare merchandise for sale.
  • Ensure product quality, freshness, and proper rotation.
  • Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers, carts, tools, and supplies clean and organized.

  • Provide good customer and associate relations.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment according to company and Health Dept. policies and procedures.
  • Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
  • Follow all current rules and duties of the Meat Department, Company, and State and Federal laws.
  • Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
  • Adhere to company policies & procedures, particularly in the areas of dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and maintaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any and all duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
  • Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, food handling, etc.
