Responsibilities
- Prepare and display meat items for sale in accordance with company standards and policies.
- Wait on customers and provide prompt, cheerful service at the counter.
- Demonstrate the company’s leadership behaviors and core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
- Read shelf tags, signs, and product labels accurately.
- Operate power tools and equipment such as automatic wrappers, slicers, grinders, power saws, and jacks safely.
- Work safely with chemically based cleaning solutions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area—including sales floors, backrooms, coolers, carts, tools, and supplies.
- Keep floors free from clutter and ensure all equipment is properly maintained.
- Check product quality, ensure freshness, and rotate merchandise appropriately.
- Work display cases to maintain proper inventory levels and freshness.
- Unload trucks, sort, and prepare merchandise for sale.
- Wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and health‑department policies.
- Provide good customer and associate relations, greeting customers and assisting them in finding products.
- Handle stressful situations tactfully and calmly, making a positive impression on associates and customers.
- Follow all applicable Meat Department, company, state, and federal regulations and policies.
- Adhere to dress code, grooming standards, food‑safety, sanitation, and anti‑harassment policies.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
- Qualified to operate power tools and equipment safely.
- Capability to work safely with chemically based cleaning solutions.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment and assist department members.
- Ability to remain prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Desired experience working with meat or in food preparation.
- Past work record demonstrating dependability and integrity.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, and food handling.
Schedule
Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
