Job Title: Meat Utility Worker-AM

Availability Reports To Meat Department Manager

Responsibilities

• Aid guests in locating items on or off the sales floor
• Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and other special requests
• Provide excellent guest services by professionally answering department telephone or on the sales floor
• Wrap meat and seafood in appropriate packaging
• Ensure accurate pricing on items within displays and sales floor - fill, rotate, and remove product according to date
• Support teammates and positively contribute to the culture of the Meat Department
• Address guest concerns and resolve issues by practicing the boomerang principle
• Ensure high standard quality control by inspecting, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures, and replenishing all meat products on display
• Maintain proper inventory levels in Meat Department (containers, wraps, tags, etc.)
• Maintain food safety logs and lead by example through following proper procedures
• Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel
• Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment
• Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
• Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
• Proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Stand in one place for a long period of time, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly
• Full range of upper body motion
• Lift up to 80 pounds on an occasional basis
• Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures such as freezers, coolers, kitchens, and sales floor
• Repetitive motion of hands and wrists

Work Schedule

The Meat Utility Worker is a position that may be part-time or full-time. The work schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
