Meat Utility Worker
About the role
Festival Foods is a Wisconsin grocer dedicated to community service and guest satisfaction. We operate over 40 full-service supermarkets across Wisconsin. This role is part-time and reports to the Meat Department Manager.
Responsibilities
- Maintain stock levels within the Meat Department's sales floor by replenishing products as needed.
- Execute the boomerang theory by providing exceptional service to all guests behind the service counter and on the sales floor.
- Aid guests with locating items on or off the sales floor.
- Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and other special requests.
- Provide excellent guest services by professionally answering department telephone or on the sales floor.
- Wrap meat and seafood in appropriate packaging.
- Ensure accurate pricing on items within displays and sales floor - fill, rotate, and remove product according to date.
- Support teammates and positively contribute to the culture of the Meat Department.
- Address guest concerns and resolve issues by practicing the boomerang principle.
- Ensure high standard quality control by inspecting, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures, and replenishing all meat products on display.
- Maintain proper inventory levels in Meat Department (containers, wraps, tags, etc.).
- Maintain food safety logs and lead by example through following proper procedures.
- Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel.
- Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment.
- Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
- Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises.
- Requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler.

Pay
Hourly wage varies based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The Meat Utility Worker position may be part-time or full-time, with work schedules including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
