Meat Service Counter Manager

About the role

Festival Foods is a Wisconsin grocer dedicated to community service and guest value. We operate over 40 full-service supermarkets throughout Wisconsin. This role is for a Meat Service Counter Manager who reports to the Meat Department Manager.

Responsibilities

• Coach, train, and support the Meat Service Counter team
• Create and manage weekly schedules
• Packaging, labeling, and merchandising products in the service case
• Maintain clean, organized, and food-safe workspaces
• Monitor product rotation, case presentation, and temperature logs
• Communicate with the Meat Department Manager for associate performance feedback
• Ensure proper inventory of packaging materials and counter supplies
• Lead by example behind the counter and on the sales floor
• Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Understand all safety requirements and company safety policies
• Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards
• Knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and ability to make timely and effective decisions
• WI Certified Food Manager License (Festival to reimbursement)

• Lifting up to 80 pounds on an occasional basis

Pay

• Hourly: Commensurate with experience
• Part-time: $1 premium per hour on Sundays and select holidays
• Full-time: Time and a half on Sundays and select holidays

Schedule

The Meat Service Counter Manager is a full-time position with flexible hours including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays. Evening and overnight shifts may be required.
